Dr.
David Menton
Talk 1: Lucy, She’s No Lady
Talk 2: Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
Date: April 11th, 7:00pm
Rocky Mountain
Creation Fellowship is privileged to have back as our April speaker,
Dr. David Menton from Answers in Genesis. Although he has
impressive academic credentials, Dr. Menton is nevertheless able
to communicate the truths of Creation effectively to many age ranges.
Dr. Menton was the professor of anatomy at Washington University
in St. Louis. He has joined AIG as a full time speaker and also
contribute articles to AiG’s Answers magazine.
Dr. Menton was
awarded "Professor of the Year" in 1998 while associate
professor of anatomy at the respected Washington University School
of Medicine and is now a professor emeritus. He holds a PhD
in cell biology from an Ivy League school, Brown University. For
almost two decades he has been profiled in American Men and Women
of Science - a “Biographical Directory of Today’s Leaders in
Physical, Biological and Related Sciences.”
Audiences of all
ages enjoy Dr. Menton’s well-illustrated (and often humorous) presentations
on a variety of fascinating topics, such as the human body, feathers
and birds, and the Scopes trial. Since AiG's Creation Museum opened
in 2007, he has been interviewed by several media outlets, including
ABC-TV's World News Tonight with Charles Gibson, January
2008
Dr. Menton will
be speaking twice on Friday evening. His first talk will be Lucy
She’s No Lady. Confused about the discovery of Lucy, a “missing
link” between monkeys and humans? Anatomist Dr. David Menton leaves
no doubt that the famous “Lucy” fossils belong to a knuckle-walking,
apelike creature … who was not a lady! Lucy is
exhibit “A” for evolutionists when they are pressed to offer proof
that humans descended from ape-like creatures. Dr. Menton’s easy-to-understand
talk exposes the massive problems with “Lucy” being the missing
link. Along the way he also will shed light on other “ape-man” claims.
You will be convinced that the origin of humans is best explained
by the One who was there at the beginning, our Creator God.
Dr. Menton’s second
talk of the evening will be Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.
The question is not “when life begins”, but “when does a person
begin?” His talk explains from anatomical science and biology the
truth of Psalm 139:13-16, which says that God weaves us together
in the womb. This illustrated lecture also reveals the amazing
and intricate design of the womb and the process of fertilization,
implantation, embryonic development and birth itself. He will show
that each of these is a series of miracles (irreducible complexities)
that cannot be explained by chance and random processes
Dr. Menton’s talks cause a lot of controversy
with evolutionists, so bring a fellow evolutionist friend to the
meeting. There will be refreshments after the meeting in our fellowship
hall and there is no cost for this engagement. If you are interested
in becoming a member of RMCF, please call RMCF at (303) 525-5500
or email us at talk@youngearth.org. DVD’s will be made of
Dr. Menton’s talks and will be available that evening. Hope to see
you all there.
